GOVERNING BODY (Autonomous):
The Governing Body of an ACE engineering college plays a crucial role in providing strategic direction and oversight. It’s responsible for setting institutional policies, ensuring financial health, and upholding academic standards to promote excellence. The body acts as a key link between the college and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. This policy-making body of the college meets periodically, at least once every three months or as frequently as necessary, to discuss the agenda prepared by the Principal. It reviews the Academic performance every semester and formulates policy decisions for the betterment of Academics. The annual budget for the next financial year is discussed, and decisions are recorded after reviewing the college’s income and expenditure, particularly identifying areas of less or excess spending in each department from the previous year. Functions and Responsibilities of College Governing Body:
  • To formulate long-range planning for the growth and development of the institute.
  • To make decisions for the introduction of new programs of study at the UG and PG levels.
  • Approve the Civil works for the infrastructure development of the college.
  • To work out measures for the creation and operation of R&D cells and consultancies.
  • To enter into MOUs with the Industry, training, placement, and organizations.
  • To formulate the rules and regulations regarding leaves, resignations, reliefs, probations, vacation, incentives for both staff and students, library, transport, computer centre, canteen, scholarships, endowments, annual prizes, annual events, sponsorships, etc.
  • To finalize and approve proposals for research projects applied by the faculty concerned to AICTE, UGC, and other funding agencies.
  • It frames rules as to the functioning of the account section, formats for maintenance of accounts, arranges for their audit, and reviews the audit report given by a qualified Chartered Accountant.
  • It takes steps for an internal audit of the expenditures.
  • It formulates the rules and regulations relating to donations by others for the development of the institute.
  • It finalizes the service conditions (Selection, Appointment, Probation declaration, annual increment, scale of pay, promotion, training, regularization, ratification, deputation, lien, disciplinary matters, etc.) of the staff working in consonance with the State Government, AICTE, and JNTUH stipulations.
  • It monitors the functioning and progress of the institute, fulfilling the objectives of the sponsoring society.
  • It decides whether to share the infrastructure of the institute with other institutes/purposes having similar goals or not.
  • It evolves fundraising programmes for the growth of the institute.
  • All transactions of the Governing Body are recorded with regular maintenance of minutes.

Academic Council Committee The Academic Council Committee sets the academic policies and standards for the institution. Its role is to ensure the quality and relevance of all academic programs. They approve new courses, syllabi, and evaluation methods, and oversee the academic calendar. Functions of the College Academic Committee: 
  • Assist the Principal in academic planning and policy implementation in line with AICTE/UGC/University guidelines.
  • Prepare and recommend the academic calendar for the smooth conduct of instructional and evaluation activities.
  • Review and approve departmental teaching plans, workloads, and timetables.
  • Monitor curriculum delivery and ensure the use of modern teaching-learning methods.
  • Oversee internal assessment, examinations, and evaluation processes to maintain fairness and transparency.
  • Encourage research, innovation, projects, and industry interaction at the college level.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation and quality standards (NBA, NAAC, ISO, etc.).

Grievance Redressal Committee:

The Grievance Redressal Committee acts as a formal body to address and resolve complaints and issues raised by students and staff. Its role is to provide a fair and impartial platform for airing grievances related to academic matters, administration, or other institutional issues. This committee ensures that all complaints are heard and resolved promptly and confidentially, promoting a positive and just environment.

Functions of Grievance Redressal Committee:
  • The committee receives grievances from students, faculty, and staff, logging each one with a unique reference number.
  • An initial investigation is carried out to assess the validity and seriousness of the complaint, determining if it falls within the committee’s purview.
  • The committee attempts to resolve issues through informal discussion and mediation between the parties involved, aiming for an amicable settlement.
  • If mediation fails, a formal hearing is scheduled where both the complainant and the accused are given an opportunity to present their side of the story and evidence.
  • All proceedings, including the identity of the complainant and the details of the grievance, are kept confidential to protect the privacy of all parties.
  • The committee conducts a detailed investigation by interviewing witnesses, examining documents, and gathering all relevant information to arrive at a fair conclusion.
  • Based on its findings, the committee drafts a report with recommendations for appropriate action, which may include disciplinary measures, policy changes, or other corrective steps.
  • The committee ensures that the grievance redressal process is unbiased, transparent, and in line with the principles of natural justice, giving a fair chance to all parties.
  • The committee follows up to ensure that the recommended actions or resolutions are implemented effectively and in a timely manner by the college administration.

Entrepreneurship Development Committee (EDC):

The Entrepreneurship Development Committee is responsible for fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students. Its role is to provide training, resources, and mentorship to students with business ideas. They organize workshops, seminars, and startup competitions to encourage students to create their own ventures. This committee is vital for developing entrepreneurial skills and creating job creators rather than just job seekers.

Functions of Entrepreneurship Development Committee:

The Anti-Ragging Committee is dedicated to preventing and punishing any acts of ragging within the college premises. Its role is to create a safe and welcoming environment for all students, especially freshers. They conduct awareness campaigns, enforce strict anti-ragging policies, and take immediate action against offenders to ensure a zero-tolerance policy for this harmful practice.

Functions of Anti-Ragging Committee:
  • The committee is responsible for formulating and implementing a comprehensive anti-ragging policy in line with the regulations set by bodies like the UGC and AICTE.
  • The committee organizes workshops, seminars, and orientation sessions for students, faculty, and parents to educate them about the ill-effects of ragging and the legal consequences.
  • It provides a confidential and accessible way for students to report ragging incidents, including a dedicated helpline, suggestion boxes, and a complaint email.
  • The committee promptly and impartially investigates all reported cases of ragging, gathering evidence and interviewing those involved.
  • Based on the investigation, the committee recommends appropriate disciplinary actions against students found guilty of ragging, which may include suspension, expulsion, or other penalties as per the college’s policy.
  • It maintains vigilance by monitoring various student activities on and off campus, especially during the initial months of the academic year, to prevent ragging.
  • The committee provides counseling and support to victims of ragging, helping them to cope with the trauma and ensuring their well-being.
  • In severe cases, the committee collaborates with local police and other legal authorities to take necessary legal action against offenders.
  • It keeps detailed records of all ragging incidents, investigations, and the actions taken, which is crucial for transparency and accountability.

  • Track website traffic and user behavior using tools like Google Analytics to understand what content is popular and identify areas for improvement.

Intellectual Property Rights Cell

The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell is responsible for protecting the intellectual property created by students and faculty. Its role is to create awareness about patents, copyrights, and trademarks, and assist researchers in filing for IPR protection. This cell encourages innovation and ensures that the intellectual output of the college is properly secured and utilized.

Functions of Intellectual Property Right Cell:

  • Conducts workshops, seminars, and training sessions to educate students, faculty, and researchers on the importance of IPR, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and industrial designs. 
  • Raises awareness about how to protect their creative and innovative work.
  • Responsible for drafting and implementing a clear IPR policy for the college
  • Provides guidance and assistance to inventors in conducting prior art searches to determine the novelty of their inventions before a patent application is filed. 
  • It facilitates the entire process of filing IPR applications, including patents, copyrights, and trademarks. 
  • It is tasked with maintaining a comprehensive database of all intellectual property created within the college. 
  • It helps in identifying potential partners and industries for the commercialization of patented technologies or licensed intellectual property. 
  • It works on technology transfer agreements and negotiates licensing deals to generate revenue for the college and its inventors.
  • Assist in the valuation of intellectual property to determine its commercial worth, which is essential for licensing, technology transfer, and attracting potential investors.
  • It provides support and legal advice in cases of IPR infringement. The cell helps in taking appropriate action to protect the college’s intellectual property rights and enforce them legally if needed.
  • It maintains detailed records of all research, inventions, and creative works, ensuring proper documentation to support future IPR applications and to establish clear ownership of the intellectual property.
  • It works on developing a system to recognize and reward faculty and students for their innovative contributions and successful IPR filings.
SC/ST Committee
The SC/ST Committee is dedicated to addressing the needs and concerns of students and staff from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Its role is to ensure equal opportunities, implement reservation policies, and provide guidance and support to these communities. They work to create an inclusive and equitable environment for all. Functions of SC/ST Committee:

  • To monitor and address issues related to the admission process for SC/ST students, ensuring compliance with reservation policies.
  • To provide guidance and counselling to SC/ST students on academic, financial, and personal matters.
  • To facilitate and oversee the effective implementation of government scholarships and financial aid schemes for eligible students.
  • To organize remedial coaching classes and special tutorials to help SC/ST students improve their academic performance and bridge any learning gaps.
  • To address grievances and complaints of harassment or discrimination from SC/ST students in a fair and timely manner.
  • To promote a positive and inclusive campus environment by organizing awareness programs on diversity and inclusion.
  • To maintain and update records of SC/ST students and their academic progress for reporting and monitoring purposes.
  • To liaise with government bodies, NGOs, and other external agencies to secure resources and support for SC/ST students’ welfare.
